Dates: This workshop will run for one week from Monday 23rd July to Friday 27th July 2018.

Workshop Information

On this five-day summer school the participants would being by learning all about the properties of leather and what makes it a unique material and also learn about all of the hand tools used in leather work.

The students will begin by learning hand saddle stitching and will firstly make a small leather card case followed by a leather belt.

The students will then progress to learn how to make simple patterns and will be able to design their own leather satchel. They will cut out the leather and be shown every step how to construct and stitch their own finished leather bag finished to take home by the end of the week.

By the end of the students will have learnt all of the basic skills and techniques to make leather bags and will be able to carry on making at home.
