Workshop Information
Wood carving is a combination of art and craft. It requires a well trained eye, tool skills, patience and an appreciation of the traditional history of carving as well the desire to create beautiful objects. Wood carving can be found on frames, furnishings, buildings, and sculptures – which can be decorative, functional or pure art. To train as a wood carver requires commitment and hard work but the rewards are well worth it! Once you have mastered the tools and techniques it is an endlessly versatile skill and you can break free from conventional styles to create whatever you like. If you want to develop your creativity and love the idea of working with wood, come and unleash your talents in our summer workshop.
