Summer 2023: Enamelling

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 21^st August 2023 until Friday 25^th  August 2023.
In this workshop, students were taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling, using materials such as silver, copper and brass.

Summer 2023: Fortnums x TCDT Employment Programme: Human Resources & Visual Merchandising

Fortnum & Mason, Piccadilly, London, This workshop ran for one day on Tuesday 22^nd August 2023.
During the final in a series of employment programme workshops, run in collaboration with Fortnum & Mason, students explored what it is like to work within the store’s Human Resources and Visual Merchandising departments.  Each Fortnums x TCDT Employment Programme workshop allows students to meet with at least two different departments to learn about their role and growth in the business, what they love doing and some of the challenges. Speakers will also offer career advice should the students wish to grow their career in the visited departments.

Summer 2023: Sign Writing on Skateboards

Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for four days from Tuesday 15^th August 2023 until Friday 18^th August 2023.
In this workshop, students learned how to paint a box or skate board using traditional, timeless brushwork and pinstriping techniques. Practicing with a mahl stick (a stick with a soft leather or padded head used by painters) and enamel paints, students acquired new design, shading and lining talents and learned to master some serious brushwork skills!

Summer 2023: Sewing & Dressmaking

Cockpit Arts, Bloomsbury, This workshop ran for five days from Monday 14^th August 2023 until Friday 18^th August 2023.
Beginners and students of all levels were able to learn or improve their sewing skills in this workshop run by highly experienced Creative Dimension Trust tutor Jose Hendo. A no fuss, easy approach helped students to create unique clothes that fit and make beautiful, inexpensive gifts and accessories.

SUMMER 2023: ARCHITECTURAL MODEL MAKING

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects, London, This workshop ran throughout July and August 2023, with one student attending each of the three, week-long workshops.
Three lucky students had the opportunity to learn the art of Architectural modelling in an exciting and creative environment, with uninterrupted guidance from one of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’ senior in-house model makers.

Summer 2023: Marionette Puppet Making

Online, This workshop ran for three days from Monday 7^th August 2023 until Wednesday 9^th August 2023.
From the comfort of their own home, students learned the art of marionette puppet making from puppeteer and experienced Creative Dimension Trust tutor, Sian Kidd. Taking inspiration from vintage Sci-fi and deep space science, they worked together to create unique puppet characters from their imaginations!

Summer 2023: Fortnums x TCDT Employment Programme: Buying & Finance

Fortnum & Mason, Piccadilly, London, This workshop ran for one day on Tuesday 8^th August 2023.
During the second of a series of employment programme workshops, run in collaboration with Fortnum & Mason, students explored what it is like to work within the store’s Buying and Finance departments.  Each Fortnums x TCDT Employment Programme workshop allows students to meet with at least two different departments to learn about their role and growth in the business, what they love doing and some of the challenges.
