Summer 2022: Blueprint Photography

Bow Road Studios, London E3, This workshop ran for two days from Saturday 6th August 2022 until Sunday 7th August 2022.
At the end of this 2 day immersion, every student was able to take home four unique artworks created using the exiting, photographic printmaking process 'Canyontype'. See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: ENAMELLING AND FLOWER MAKING WITH METAL

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran from Monday 1st August 2022 until Friday 5th  August 2022.
During this workshop, students were taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling using. Students were able to experience working with different materials including silver, copper and brass. See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: Table Loom Weaving

The Clothworkers’ Hall, London EC3R, This workshop ran for 5 days from Monday 1st August 2022 until Friday 5th August 2022.
Over this 5-day introduction to weaving workshop, hosted inside the wonderfully grand Clothworkers Hall in the City of London, students learned different weaving techniques, guided by TCDT tutor, Claire Whelan. See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: Sewing & Dressmaking

The Clothworkers’ Hall, London EC3R, This workshop ran for 4 days from Tuesday 2nd August 2022 until Friday 5th August 2022.
Students of all levels were given the opportunity to learn or improve their sewing skills over this four day workshop, held at the historic Clothworkers' Hall. See photos from the workshop here.

Summer 2022: Fused Glass Workshop

National Glass Centre, Sunderland, This workshop ran over 4 days on the 27th and 29th July and on the 1st and 3rd August 2022.
On this 4-day course, students learned about the exciting possibilities of glass flameworking. Students explored the colour changing properties of Dichroic Glass, learning how the colours are transmitted and change depending on the light source.

Summer 2022: Embroidery

Online, This workshop ran from Monday 25th July 2022 until Friday 29th July 2022.
During this online workshop, students designed and created an embroidery on a denim piece of clothing from their wardrobe.

Summer 2022: Puppet Making

Online, This workshop ran from Tuesday 26th July 2022 until Thursday 28th  July 2022.
In this workshop, led by TCDT tutor Sian Kidd, students designed, made and learned to operate their own unique, sea-themed marionette puppets.

Spring 2022: Sugarcraft with Kathryn Cuthbertson

Online, This workshop ran for three days from Tuesday 12th April 2022 until Thursday 14th April 2022.
In this fully interactive workshop, students learned the fundamentals of working with both sugar florist and sugar modelling paste to create sugarcraft corals and seabed creatures. Students were guided through a variety of different techniques including designing, hand forming, sculpting, modelling as well as colouring, dusting and assembling. 

Spring 2022: Draw and Paint The Tree Of Life

Online, This workshop ran for one day on Thursday 7th April 2022.
The Tree of Life is a recurring motif in many arts. They contain deep symbolism, being embodiments of celestial and vital energies. But even without the complex layers of symbolism.... the tree, whatever else it is, is a giver of life. A beautiful thing to be celebrated and give gratitude for.   During this course, students learned how to improve their drawing skills and incorporate the compass and ruler to create a harmonious foundation for the tree of life. Their final designs explored the art of Indian ink and white gauche, inspired by traditional Indian Folk Art.

Spring 2022: Jewellery Making

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, This workshop ran on Saturdays for five weeks from Saturday 26th February 2022 until Saturday 26th  March 2022. 
During this workshop, students learned traditional techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and annealing to complete a personal piece of jewellery to take home.
